Water Wise Campaign

The AD campaign. that will be discussed. is the Water. Wise campaign, which. is a sub brand. of Rand Water, and is aimed .at raising awareness. of the need to value. water and to use it. efficiently and .sustainably. Water Wise has identified some factors that put pressure on our water resources; one factor being the affect mining has on water pollution. and the profound effect it has on the issue. Water Wise has recognised the issue of the water shortage in South Africa and through their campaign will promote the wise use of water. Along with this, Water Wise aims to build partnerships and develop relationships in order to spread the Water Wise .message. The following will explain how Water Wise is going to improve the situation of water pollution in South Africa and what their key purposes are.

The purpose. of Water Wise is. to offer a framework. that not only. encourages water. conservation but also deals with awareness programs and education. Water Wise aims to reach their audience through mediums such as audio, print and visual media, they want to create awareness, which will hopefully lead to their audiences to using and implementing Water Wise. products and .practices, which are aimed. at lowering water .consumption and disposal of waste in industries such as mining. By educating people further on implementing systems such as better site management, where the mines are especially behind, Water Wise aims to improve the way in which big organisations, such as mines, and ordinary people think about water and they aim to improve peoples knowledge on the topic of water pollution and keeping South Africa’s water clean. Water Wise is promoting the wise use of water so .that the drinking .quality of our water. is not negatively. impacted.

The scope of Water Wise is to promote environmental sustainability, specifically water, whilst complying with legislation and working along side helpful partnerships. Water Wise has created objectives and goals and these consist of the following; public education that provides insights and awareness initiatives, Water Wise will encourage the efficient use of water and, along with the above, they will contribute towards primary, secondary and tertiary educational institutions to integrate water conservation into schools. Water Wise will also be highly involved with water conservation initiatives that will result in reducing water footprints in our country.

The Water Wise Vision .is “To promote. the wise and sustainable. use of water and the environment.” Their mission is to be the African leader in water conservation, and along with this they want to be a business and a household brand in the minds of their audience.

Water Wise has created six educational pillars that apply to all sectors of the economy and they are the following:
·      RESPECT. WATER, .RESPECT LIFE
·      DON’T. WASTE. WATER
·      DON’T. POLLUTE. WATER
·      PAY FOR .WATER SERVICES
·      ENVIROMENTAL .ACTION
·      CONSERVE WATER, CONSERVE THE ENVIROMENT
The six pillars symbolise what the Water Wise brand stands for and they want all people to jump on board and show more respect and sympathy towards our water, which is a precious resource.

The Water Wise brand wants to create a campaign that is highly effective and in order to do so they need to get big companies and organisations on board that will act now in order to start a movement where people and communities are aware of the water crisis in South Africa.
